Sewing up the Ladies Sahara

Oh Goodness!

I did a thing! (breathes deeply into paper bag)

I actually signed up to be a pattern tester! It was....... SO MUCH FUN!!!

When Bella Sunshine Designs posted that they were looking for pattern testers for the Ladies Sahara I jumped on it! It was really out of character for me. I am a lover of all things PDF patterns, I mean really, not needing to go to the store and dig through the drawers! LOVE! This would be fun right?!? It should be said that I love to sew, but to actually have to follow the directions to a T.... that's scary! Time to push yourself Johnnal!

I'm so glad I did!

My experience sewing up this test was just amazing! The ladies over at BSD are just great to work with and the pattern..... Oh my! you probably want to actually see the pattern though right?
Here it is!

Bella Sunshine Designs Ladies Sahara

The Sahara features a full circle skirt for lots of twirly fun! This pattern has so many options! You can make a top, a tunic or a dress. You can have short sleeves, 3/4 sleeves, long sleeves or no sleeves at all!! It comes in sizes 0-20 with optional bust adjustments already made. (Can I get an AMEN from all my chesty girls!!!) I tested the sleeveless dress and it was wonderful! I made it for my daughter who is 16 and 5'7" and stunning! She took a 12 with bust adjustment graded to a 14 at the waist. It was perfect! The skirt hit just above the knee, the bra straps are covered, no gaping at the armholes. PERFECT!

Did I mention that it also has this wonderful scooped out back, it's so dreamy and ballerina like!

We made 2 dresses because Zoe liked it so much and it was so fast and easy! Um... FAST, EASY and TEENAGER APPROVED! This ones a winner!

A few of my favorite features from this pattern:

*So many options: top, tunic, dress, multiple sleeve options, etc.

* They give you fabric measurements for all the different pieces, so color blocking is a breeze!

*Lots of fun tricks for putting it together with great illustrations including links to tutorials which makes this a real winner for a newer seamstress.

*Clear elastic to reinforce the shoulders, sleeve openings and waist. Little details like that really make it look professional.

I enjoyed this pattern so much and have already made another for myself, but didn't get any pictures. Maybe later. The nice thing is it looked really nice on me too and I'm nowhere near 5'7" or 16 or size 12/14. LOL

So run on over to Bella Sunshine Designs and grab your copy of the Ladies Sahara today and get sewing!!!

See ya soon,
Johnnal
